National Institute of Technology Hamirpur, H.P. ( formely known as R.E.C. ) was started in the year 1986. The Institute runs nine under graduate programmes, sixteen post graduate programmes in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science & Engineering, Chemical, Engg Physics, Material Science, Maths & computing , Architecture and Ph. D. programmes in all departments. The campus is located at Anu which is 2 Kms from Hamirpur bus stand. Hamirpur town is situated in the lap of snow clad Dhauladhar Valley. The nearest railway station is at Una which is about 80 Kms from Hamirpur. Tourist spots near to Hamirpur include Mata Brajeshwari temple, Jwalamukhi temple, Chintpurni temple, Chamunda Devi temple, Baba Balak Nath temple, Dharamshala- the seat of Dalai Lama, Shimla, Kullu, Manali, etc.
The Department of Electrical Engineering came into existence in the year 1986. The department has qualified and dedicated faculty with specializations covering various areas of Electrical Engineering. Faculty members have been consistently contributing research papers to National and International journals of repute. The department has well-equipped laboratories. The department is running three M.Tech. degree programmes in “Power System”, “Signal Processing & Control”, “Condition Monitoring PowerApparatus” and Ph.D. programmes in all fields of Electrical Engineering.
The conference is aimed at providing a common platform to researchers, industry personnel, academicians, and practicing engineers to interact and discuss recent developments in electrical systems and related technologies.
